Litter picking at Roche Abbey with Maltby Town Council – March 2022

Date: 27th Mar 2022 Author: Bosun

On Saturday, 26th March 2022, members of 5th Rotherham (Maltby) Scout group went along with Maltby Town Council to help litter pick at Roche Abbey.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the members from our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, and Scout section attended. We were even joined by Richard Hinchliffe, the District Commissioner for Rotherham Scouting.

Thank you to Tesco in Maltby for providing our young people with drinks and snacks after a hard slog litter-picking.

Also thank you to Maltby Town Council and the English Heritage for hosting the event.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
