We’ve received a grant from the Scouts Recovery Fund ♥

Like many, 2020 was a difficult year for our group due to COVID-19, with extraordinarily little income; however, we have some good news!

Our group have received a grant of £1,200 from the Scouts Recovery Fund.

The fund was created with money raised in the Race Around the World Appeal via donations from the Pears Foundation and the Department for Digital Culture Media Sport (DCMS), who funded a total of £1,000,000 as part of the Government’s £750,000,000 Charities package.

All of us at 5th Rotherham would like to say a huge thank you to all who took part, and to the Pears Foundation and DCMS.

We will use these funds to continue supporting the young people in our Scout Group.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
