Fairwell to the Temple (Fisher Building)

Date: 28th Feb 2021 Author: Bosun

Today is the end of an era, as the Temple (the old Fisher Building) has been demolished.

Over the years, the Temple has been used as an activity room, for storage, and it was also a wonderful place to hang out the tents to dry following a camp!

While it may have looked old and rickety (because it was!) – we will miss the Temple, and for those within Maltby that grew up in Scouting, we hope you have as fond a memory of the temple as we do.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
